Your Conscious Mind

Your Conscious Mind is that part of your mind which evaluates what you see, hear, taste, touch and smell. It is the part of your mind that decides if something is true or false, big or small, hot or cold, sweet or bitter, right or wrong.

This is the evaluating mind, the logical mind. It is the part of your mind which decides what you want, when you want it, where to go, and what to do. It processes the environment around you at a rate of about 40 pieces of information a second, and can handle up to three events at any one time, if pushed.

We are bombarded with millions of external stimuli every minute of our waking day. It is the conscious mind that sorts out the "important" from the "unimportant" details in order that the mind doesn't become overloaded and break down.

Your conscious mind is that part of your mind which observes and experiences, and it does what it does in accordance with the second part of your mind. So, if you are not actively thinking, (see my previous post on Thinking), the mind will just substitute what it thinks you might find interesting; probably something from your memory, and probably something that gives you bad feelings inside. I believe that's what psychologists call mental noise.

Yet no one can make you think thoughts which you do not want to think. Your conscious mind works for you, and you alone.

You are the master of the conscious mind, and it is what you think with this part of your mind that can be passed to the second part, the Subconscious Mind. But I'll talk about it next time.

What's on your mind?

Have you ever tried to visualise your mind? I didn't say "your brain" I said "your mind." That's right, your mind. You can't! It's not a physical thing. It's spiritual. How about that?

And there are two parts to it; the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is the part of the mind with which you think. (See one of my earlier blogs on "Thinking".)

The other part, well... more about that later.

In my next blog I want to explore the first part. Then we'll move on to the second.

Who is doing your thinking?

Your way of doing things is a direct result of the way you think. And if you are thinking "from the outside in" you are letting what you see, feel, hear, taste and smell—especially the "big three", hear, see and feel—dictate your actions. In effect, you are not really thinking at all, merely reacting to your environment.

Is that such a bad thing? I don't know. I am sure that if I was in the middle of the road and I saw a car approaching fast, I would surely want to get the heck out of the way. And fast!

Still, the vast majority of people today let their thoughts be guided by the newspapers, the evening TV news, friends, neighbours and even family. Opinions are the cheapest commodity on earth!

Think about it.

The Hardest Work in the World

In my last post I referred to a humourous statement by a currently well know psychologist.

He also stated that "mental activity" did not constitute thinking!

Well... if mental activity doesn't constitute thinking, what does????

Wallace Wattles in Chapter 4 of his book "The Science of Getting Rich" has the answer when he says, "There is no labour from which most people shrink as they do from that of sustained and consecutive thought; it is the hardest work in the world."

Something to think about, eh?

Are you a thinker?

A noted psychologist once quipped that:

only 2% of us think,
3% of us think we think, and that
95% of us would rather die than think.

Now that may have been an attempt at humour, but even so, I am reminded of the statement, “Whenever you encounter humour, seek out the hidden truth.”

Several years ago I mentioned these figures at a study session I was conducting for a small group of, what I thought, were educated, thinking people. I expected guffaws and laughter as the response.

What I got was absolutely astounding. It was immediate, and angry. Comments like, “What do you mean, I don't think?” and, “Where did you get such stupid statistics?”

To a person, without giving the statement a moment's consideration they had classified themselves as part of the 98% of non-thinkers!

Interesting? Yes?

Thinking...

As Wallace Wattles says in Chapter 4 of his book, The Science of Getting Rich ...

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state permeates, penetrates and fills the interspaces of the universe.

“A thought in this substance produces the thing that was imaged by the thought.

“Man can form things in his thought, and by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.”

What that means is that you also cause the things you think about to be created. In other words, what you think about you bring about!

Isn't that incredible?

Energy Thinks? What next?

So... if thought preceded the creation of the Universe, and the Universe consists solely of energy, does it not follow that this Original Substance, (energy), thinks? What follows from that is that a thought in this Original Substance creates the thing that is imaged by that thought.

That means that everything you see was preceded by thought in this Original Substance!

Thought

Energy, often referred to as”Original Substance”, teems with creativity. It is constantly creating new forms. This formless stuff, from which all things are made, responds to our needs, and it does so through our thoughts. No doubt you have heard of “The Law of Attraction.” If not, get a copy of the book, “The Science of Getting Rich.” It is available by clicking here.

We live in a thought world which is part of a thought Universe. We are surrounded by millions of them every minute of our lives on this planet we call Earth. Thoughts are one of the strongest forms of energy, for it is through thought that things are created. Indeed, everything that has ever been created has been preceded by thought. When you think deeply about it, if that is so, then thought preceded the creation of this Universe. If everything is energy, then it must be a fact that energy is thinking stuff!

How about that?

Energy!

Everything in this Universe is made from the same stuff—energy. Pure energy. Everything you see is but pure energy. It's all there is!

And if this is so, what's to say that there isn't enough to go around? We have a Universe full of it! Our galaxy is but one small spot in the Universe. Our planet, Earth, is but a small speck in our galaxy! Think about it. And yet we obsess about the lack of energy! Really!

Nature is an inexhaustible storehouse of riches. The supply will never run out.

I think we should be extremely grateful. Don't you?

It really is science!

Yes, indeed. Although you may not believe it, there is a science to getting rich. And like mathematics, it is exact. Just like Newton's laws of motion, there are certain laws governing the process of getting rich. Once you master these laws, and apply them, you will get rich with mathematical certainty.

The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a "Certain Way". If you do things in this "Certain Way" you will get rich.

There is a book entitled "The Science of Getting Rich" written over one hundred years ago by a man named Wallace D. Wattles, laying out, in detail, this "Certain Way", and it is just a valid today as it was back when it was first written. I read from it almost daily and I can tell you, it works!. And yes, copies are still available at The Life Abundant.

Get one today. You won't be sorry.

Happiness

Your highest happiness lies in the giving of benefits to those you love. Love finds its most natural and spontaneous expression in giving. If you have nothing to give you can't possibly adequately fulfill your role as a spouse, parent, citizen or person in general.

You need the use of things to develop your body, your mind, and your soul. And without these things you remain well below your full potential. It is, therefore, of great importance that you should be rich.

You can investigate this further by visiting me at Samantha's Place

See you there.

It is Your Nature to Want to be All That You Can Be

Your right to life means the right to have the free and unrestricted use of all the things necessary for your fullest mental, spiritual and physical unfoldment; or, in other words, your right to be rich.

If you own all you want for living all the life you are capable of living you are rich. And... if you don't have a lot of money how can you possibly have all you want? How can you possibly achieve completeness in mind, body and soul?

It is human nature for a person to want to be all that they can be, and that holds true for you. There is nothing wrong in wanting to be rich. That desire is is the desire for a richer, fuller and more abundant life. With a little help it can be yours.

A visit to Samantha's Place would be well worth your time. What have you got to lose?

Do you have a "Right" to be rich?

Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remanins that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless you are rich. You cannot rise to your greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless you have plenty of money; for to unfold the soul and to develop talent you must have many things to use; and you cannot have these things unless you have the money to buy them with.

Yes! You do have the right to be rich!
